Congratulations!

  • CCA Rhetoric School Art Students placed 6th in the TAPPS State Art Meet in Austin.  Individual winners were as follows: Lauren Altimont- 2nd place in Fashion Design; Kinsey Squires- 2nd place Pottery; Anna Shurtleff- 2nd place in Photography; Katherine Meadows- 3rd place in Pottery; Shae Bayless- 4th place in Pottery; Grant Hudson- Honorable Mention for Photography and Senior Portfolio.
  • Kings Kids, Early Logic School choir, received a 1-Superior rating at the ACSI Music Festival.
  • Grammar School winners at the ACSI 2010 District Speech meet are:  Gold Medals went to: Collin Hatcher, Melodee Liles, Parker Wilson, Carly Spain, Emily Myers, Rebecca Moore, Alaina Arce, Hannah Delmar, and Hannah Burt; Silver Medals went to: Joshua Gabriel, Preston Lynn, Julia Ritchie, Allison Ward, Kaylee Baker, Mackenzie Stewart, Curt Popkin, Annie Berg, Tory Peek, Michaela Dowen, Meagan Eastabrook, and Meagan Fisher; Bronze medals went to: Grace Barfknecht, Lindsay Tito, Kate Mitchell, Emma Snyder, Maddy Liles, and Hannah Gooden.
  • 7th grade cellist Morgan Bandy won second place in the Junior Sonata division of the Dallas Music Teachers Association Symphonic competition.  His brother, Cameron Bandy, a sixth grader and a violist, won sixth place in the Junior Sonata division.
  • Rhetoric school Art students won First Place overall in the 2010 TAPPS District Art Meet.
  • 2nd grader Gracie Blackburn was named to the Texas Girls Choir.
  • Sophomore Christina Capili was named to the 2010 TPSMEA All-State choir.
  • Christina Capili, Josh Dailey, and Randy Roberts were selected for the 2010 TPSMEA All-Region choir.
  • 8th grader Colton Hess appeared recently as Charlie Brown in the Ohlook Performing Arts Center production of "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown."
  • Freshman Andrew Bullard appeared recently as Bundles McCloskey and F.D.R in Lifesong Theater's production of "Annie."
  • Senior Jessica Peterson appeared recently in "The Mikado" at the Artisan Center Theater.
  • CCA Alumna Laura Saladino, a TCU theatre student, appeared recently in Artisan Center Theater’s production of “West Side Story”.
  • Senior actress Morgan Speed was accepted to Baylor University’s Theater department.
  • Violist Elizabeth Culberson was named as a member of the 2009 TPSMEA All-State Orchestra and received the highest rating at the 2009 TAPPS and TPSMEA music competitions.
  • Chorale Treble Ensemble received a Superior rating at the 2009 TAPPS District Music competition.
  • 2009 TAPPS State Art Meet winners: Cullen Capili won 2nd place for his relief sculpture, Cullen Capili won 4th place for his sculpture entry, Emily Halpert won 5th place for her Senior Portfolio, Matthew Hudgins won 6th place for his Photography Creative and Experimental entry, Shannon McCrary received an Honorable Mention for his sculpture.

  • Logic School winners at the 2009 ACSI Art competition: 1st place went to Catherine Culberson-relief sculpture, Hailey Hudgins-mixed media entry; 2nd place went to Austin Alvarez-color drawing, Katherine Meadows-sculpture, Mary Kathryn Pengelley-relief sculpture; 3rd place went to Kaitlyn Oostra-relief sculpture, Brooke Boteler-black drawing, Nick Purgett-pottery.
  • Grammar school winners at the 2009 ACSI Art competition: 1st place went to Caroline Parr- color drawing, Madison Arnold- sculpture, Lexus Estes- fabric, Ana Louisa Peterson- sculpture; 2nd place went to Cameron Carter- paper, Brec Bassinger- black drawing, Kate Mitchell- pottery, Andrew Marshall- mixed media, Hailey Hazen- paper, Skylar Reed- painting.
