Welcome from the Grammar School Head Thank you for
your interest in Covenant Christian Academy. Our prayer is that God
will direct families to us that share our mission and want to partner
with us in the important task of educating children for a life of
service in God’s world. Let me share with you some of the distinctives
of CCA’s Grammar School. The Grammar School at Covenant Christian Academy is designed to meet the needs of children as they prepare for and begin their educational experience. The program has two broad aims. First, it seeks to train children as they develop the foundational skills for learning. Second, it seeks to cultivate in each child a love for learning that will last a lifetime. The preschool and kindergarten programs emphasize helping children to make a smooth and comfortable transition from home to a group-learning situation. The instructional program takes a readiness, developmental, and academic approach to learning. Our Pre-Grammar staff work together to provide a secure and loving atmosphere that makes learning exciting and children eager to come to school. As students progress through grades one through six, they develop a growing ability to accept responsibility for their own learning and move from being a dependent learner to a more independent one. In a classical instructional program, students in these grades master the basic knowledge and skills needed to prepare them for our Logic and Rhetoric schools. In the Grammar School years, students are challenged as well as nurtured academically, physically, and spiritually in a traditional classroom environment. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. It would be our privilege to partner with you in the education of your child.
